Portland Autumn

Editorial Sessions

Eight families. One golden season. Cinematic portraits designed for art-lovers, nostalgia-seekers, and anyone drawn to the poetry of fall.

Dates: November 1st and 2nd 2025

Select dates in September + October for In-Home Family Sessions

Welcome! A little about these family sessions...

These aren’t your typical fall minis.

Think cinematic portraits, golden light, plaids and sweaters with editorial storytelling designed for art lovers, nostalgia seekers, and families who want something timeless and a little unexpected.

The kids get to be kids. They can explore, laugh, tumble into your arms, or wobble across the grass on unsteady feet. Love leads; perfection stays home.

I’ll guide you with a simple mood board, styling suggestions, and plenty of space for your family’s rhythm to unfold.

This autumn, I am opening up a select amount of 30-minute sessions to capture the poetry of fall and the beauty of your life.

I would absolutely adore working with you!

What to Expect

How to Book

Select your date and time via the scheduler. To reserve your spot, you'll make an initial payment of 50% of the full fee. This payment is not refundable, but if you need to cancel, it can be used towards a future session within the calendar year.

Pre-session

After you've booked, I’ll email you my welcome guide to help walk you through choosing your outfits and how to prepare for our time together. If you need any additional help, I am happy to plan a call with you.

Our session will be quick and easy, all you have to do is come relaxed and ready to hang out with your favorite people.

Post Session

After your session is done, I’ll begin my post-editing process. Your photographs will be completed within 2 weeks of your session date. I'll upload them to an online viewing gallery where you will see all the images available to you. You will also be able to order albums and prints within the gallery.

A Few Questions You Might Be Wondering About…

  • Both options are wonderful — it really comes down to what feels most meaningful for your family.

    • In-home sessions are best if your home has beautiful light, or if you feel drawn to mark this season in a space that holds meaning for you. They capture the warmth of your everyday life — the quiet intimacy, the little details you’ll want to remember years from now.

    • Outdoor sessions are perfect if you’re dreaming of cinematic foliage, golden leaves, and a distinctly Portland autumn backdrop. They’re playful, vibrant, and rich with the fleeting color of the season.

If you’re torn, ask yourself: Do I want this chapter remembered by the walls that hold us, or by the season we’re in together?

  • It’s Portland — rain is part of the poetry of this place. A light drizzle can actually add atmosphere and depth to your photos (think umbrellas, glistening leaves, cozy layers).

If the weather feels too heavy or uncomfortable, we’ll make a plan:

    • Reschedule within the same week if possible.

    • Or, if you’d rather, we can shift your booking to an in-home session instead — capturing your family in the comfort of your own space.

Either way, you’ll have beautiful, cinematic portraits that feel true to the season.

  • Your $275 retainer is non-refundable, but it can be applied to another session within one calendar year. Life happens — I’ll always work with you to find another date.

  • After booking, you’ll receive a styling guide with tips and inspiration. Think in layers and textures, with colors that echo the season — deep greens, warm neutrals, earthy reds. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and yourselves.

I’ll also share a curated Pinterest board to help spark ideas.

Kind Words

“Holy shit, Kelli!!!

These are amazing. I've already watched the slideshow twice and am probably going to watch it so many times it's sort of embarrassing.

I am so grateful for these.”

Rachel Larsen Weaver

A woman sitting outside on a porch, hugging two young children, one on her lap and the other leaning against her. The porch has a wooden floor and white railing, with trees and a house roof visible in the background.

"Working with Kelli was such a joy. Her laid-back approach made the early morning shoot effortless, and I was blown away by the beautiful images she captured. I knew I’d love the photos, but I was amazed at how artfully she captured our family, especially considering it was done remotely. These images reflect the love and connection I feel with my children, and I will treasure them forever. I can’t wait to work with Kelli again!"

Sara Weir

A group of five children standing against a light-colored wall, some with sad or neutral expressions. One girl on the left is pregnant and looking down, a girl next to her touching her belly, and a boy with a boy on his back. The girl on the far right has red hair and looks away.

“OH MY GOODNESS!!! I love these images so so so much, Kelli. The movement and blocking and light and observational lens. Truly everything I hoped for and more. Fine art of my family and home. These are so special.

Thank you.💜💜💜💜”

About the Artist

Hi, I’m Kelli.

Whenever I go to my childhood home, my favorite thing to do is climb up the wooden stairs and open an old closet where my mother collected our numerous family photo albums. I peel back the brown seventies binders, the one tinged with yellowing inserts, and leaf through photographs of my family. I see my Mom and Dad in their first house. My late Uncle Jimmy helping them fix it. I see both sets of my grandparents sitting next to one another, laughing and looking happy at my oldest sister’s first birthday party. My mother looks beautiful. I see my three sisters with suspicious-looking haircuts giggling by a roadside fair. I see a photo of me around age 8 that I had never seen before. Alone, on a dock, in the middle of a lake with a fishing pole in my hand. It’s one of my favorites.

If my childhood house were to burn down, I would rush to gather these dusty old books into my arms. They are one of the last objects we have left of one another. They hold our stories and encapsulate our personalities and our love. That is invaluable to me.

This is why I know it is a privilege to be a photographer. These photographs are heirlooms for your future selves and the generations that will follow. My process involves listening, finding your stories, and documenting them uniquely, with no formula in mind. I aim to capture what is beautiful but also what is honest. I would be honored to do this for you.
